This project is part of my ongoing exploration of feminine beauty through the figure of the mermaid — an otherworldly being whose alluring and unsettling beauty runs through myths, folklore, and collective imagination across cultures. In this chapter of the series, I focus on a movement from strangeness and distance toward something more human, familiar, and calm, while preserving traces of the uncanny.
The work reflects my interest in beauty as something both seductive and disquieting — a space where fragility, power, vulnerability, and mystery coexist.
